I very often start a project with chat widgets not showing names in order to avoid biased responses. On complex project review pages I would have about 15 to 20 chat widgets. After an initial phase I want to make the names visible for the ongoing discussion.
Would be a huge time saver to enable configuration of all chat widgets per page, e.g. all names on/off, all fields sorted by likes, etc
There should be still the chance of manual override for specific chat boxes but having to tweak the settings for every box on a page individually is very painful
Thanks Dirk! Well written description and I can easily understand the use case you have. How would you imagine the UI to work for this?
Hi Antti, thanks for the promising feedback. How about adding it to the page settings menu. Ideally you would create also a master setting for all pages. If it might be too noisy for the average user you could make it clickable with the overall account configuration like AI usage etc
There is similar idea here.
I think what would be maybe the easiest (and safest to avoid accidents) is to have "default widget settings" per workspace. Then you could one click "reset to default settings" from ... menu of each widget. Still very tricky - since some of the settings are very specific (you don't want to have the widget title to reset to default? Or pulse questions?).
Thanks Antti,
the default setting option does not work as I don't want to reset all the chat widgets. I just want an option to toggle show names on and off as well collapse all the entries and make them all visible for easy PDF archiving of discussions.
Just resetting would not help at all.
I don't see a risk of losing data as you just edit the visibility options. The ability to toggle show results on / off for all pulses and polls would be great as well.
thanks, Dirk
Ok, so the actual need is a full page PDF archive, not the mass editing of the settings?
Is it something like this idea, but without filtering per person - getting everything per page?
Antti,
These Are 2 different Use Cases.
1) fast PDF archival: Need to automatically expand all Chat Widgets and Show Results in all polls / surveys
2) mass configuration of chat widgets: ability to change settings for all chat widgets on one page like; name visibility ON/OFF, sort by likes, etc
these cases are completely independent of each other
Thanks Dirk, excellent descriptions.
