Do I have to open all my archived workspaces in the old Howspace and change them to the new Howspace in case I want to use them in the future? Or will I yet be able to access them in the new howspace and they will automatically be updated the new form?

You don't have to touch your archived workspaces. When you later re-activate those workspaces, they will open in new Howspace.
