I know that we can change background for different pages, but can I change it for the e-mails I sent to my community?

The background image is inherited from the page where the link goes. So if you have a page with custom background, you navigate there and choose "Send emails", then that email will have that same custom background. But you cannot choose different backgrounds just for the emails.
Aha, so if I were to point people to a page with a different background (instead of eg our main Landing page), then the email inherits that background?
Yes! There is a minor bug there though (just noticed). The preview background image is always showing the background from the page where you initiated the "Send emails" process. But in the actual email it is based on the background from the page that chosen in "Login button will lead the recipient to the following page" option.
