I would like to be able to compose emails as drafts, i.e. in the draft folder.
I have had a few slip-ups: composing and saving emails as drafts only to find that the body of the email has not been saved; and composing emails to be timed and send out later but have hit the "send" tab by mistake - 🤦♂️ I know but sometimes I am interrupted mid-composition and when I return to the email forget where I am in the process.
Please would it be possible to add a "Compose and Email as draft" feature from the start of the process rather than making an option during the standard email option.
Hmm.. that is interesting - so you would like to start writing a draft in the very beginning? I think that is a bit unfamiliar concept on what comes to emails (just benchmarked few email clients I use - you always start composing email - and then if you don't send it - it is saved as a draft).
What I think we should improve is making it clearer that by clicking X you can save it as a draft (instead of discarding the whole email).
I just received feedback from a customer who is experiencing what David described: sometimes a started email is saved in the drafts, and sometimes it isn’t. They were wondering if there could be a "Save" button to ensure that the started email is saved as a draft, allowing them to return and continue from where they left off.
Another solution could be like GMail does and automatically save an email as a draft at whatever stage I close the the browser. So, if for example I leave the page accidentally, which was happening to me with Howspace when either I got interrupted or I had other tabs open where I was checking page links, even if I close the browser in error, it´s saved in my draft folder.
