A customer who works with multiple training programs at the same time is requesting the possibility to replace a page with the same name when duplicating pages.
When duplicating a page from one workspace to another, if a page with the same name already exists, the new one cannot be added unless the name is changed. My suggestion is to add a "Replace Page" possibility (see the screenshot for example). This would be a great time saver.
Hmm. I understand the idea and I see a big danger in this. There might be several admins in the workspace and with this workflow this admin would delete an existing page without checking it out and understanding what she/he is doing right now. I would add number 1 or 2 in the end of the title and make sure that the other page can be deleted by visiting it first and then renaming this new page by removing the number.
Hi Ilkka,
Just a suggestion — if someone accidentally deletes or replaces a page, Howspace now have a new "trash" function, could it be used as a backup in such cases?
Additionally, we would love to see the option to duplicate a page to multiple workspaces at the same time. Would that be possible?
Best regards, Jun
Hi Jun, thanks for your activity. Yes, we do have trash can and it is for page level cases for deleted widgets as you probably know. It is not used at the moment for pages. This is something that could be considered. Thanks for the idea.
Technically almost anything is possible and we try always to find the common use cases that do make Howspace better and for example save time from the admin.
Is it a common use case for you to multiply a page to several workspaces at once? Can you explain more about that use case.
About the original question: would it work that if Howspace recognizes that you are trying to add a page with an existing name, it would automatically add something (like number 1) in the end instead of deleting the existing page?
