Could be an addition to the Fileshare widget. The idea is that it would be nice to be able to share multiple files in the same widget in a workspace but to be able to divide those files in folders. This would allow collapsing long lists of files behind folder titles.
This would be particularly helpful for authoritative document production -- in the case of PHTA, production of standards. There are often dozens of references that must be considered by those authoring standards -- individual uploads dont allow for management of them.
Thanks.
The original idea of the Filesharing widget is that once you need "a folder" you can create a new Filesharing widget. That way it is easy to use. If we continue with this approach, what additional features would be needed in the widget to meet your needs? More detailed management of the widget? Something like:
- Who can see this widget?
Not having to have multiple filesharing widgets when sharing multiple files. Creating a new widget for every file is not easy to use. Dropping files into a folder is.
I assume who can see widgets is already controlled by basic workspace permissions, though refinement on that might be helpful. Howspace does not have a very deep permissions structure.
Thanks.
