Possibility to use "free canvas" instead of containers with columns when positioning widgets. This would allow more flexible layouts. Also important that you can set the canvas background, so that you can really visualize different phases of the process for example. Here is very early prototype to open the idea.
In mobile these should probably be just scrollable - if we reorder the widgets, then it is impossible to keep the control with background image. This needs to be tested.
Looks like a very good early prototype. Go for it! ;)
This would give such amazing freedom in layout for pages or containers. I would love to see the container option in particular. Here I think that the full page width comes nicely into the picture as well - to get a nice section/block of the page where you can set background to make it visually clear that you are scrolling between different elements of the content.
So yeah, I really hope that we will see this one 👏🌟
This concept has transformed into "canvas/whiteboard widget".
We are close to open beta testing for this. Here you can see some examples of the Canvas widget.
First one: Community Canvas (by Miikka Leinonen, Ghost) as background image.
Second one: Example of using widget styles (colors, fonts, etc.) to make a difference
Third one: Positioning / competitor mapping with adding images (logos) to the canvas
What do you think about the Canvas? We try to make it as simple as possible. As an admin user you can select which tools are available for the participants to simplify the UX. In Howspace we do have plenty of widgets for different purposes and we don't have to solve everything with the Canvas. That's how we are able to keep it simple.
