Possibility to choose Favourite sites (and equally mute other sites)

We use Howspace for communicating with our members (we are a destination management organization). Since we do not know exactly, what kind of content interests each user, we have a large amount of pages covering all kinds of content. Many users say that it is rather "unappealing" to receive an automated message saying "you have 50 undread messages". The possibility to mark certain pages as Favourites (to receive messages from the chats of those pages) and equally mute other pages could be a solution.
