We use Howspace for research participants to collaborate on. When adding participants to the site I want to upload a range of data about them. Whether this be demographic data, or other important information that is useful to break down their responses by later. They have already provided this information to us (making it inefficient and cumbersome to ask them again when they log on for the first time), and we want to be able to assign this in bulk, both when we upload but at a later date once already on the site. This also removes any margin for error in their responses as they join the site. I can enforce userlists, but there is differences in functionality between userlists and profile fields that we be useful to be able to enforce both.
